Overview

Gilt is a macOS clipboard history manager designed with privacy at its core. Your clipboard data never leaves your Mac. We do not collect, transmit, or store any of your clipboard contents on external servers.

Data Collection

What we do NOT collect

  • Clipboard contents (text, images, links, files)
  • Usage analytics or telemetry
  • Personal identification information from the app
  • Browsing history or app usage patterns
  • Keystrokes or screen recordings

What we collect

  • Feedback form submissions: When you voluntarily submit feedback or feature requests via our website, we collect your name, email address, and message content. This data is sent to our email (contact@novor.dev) via Resend and is used solely to respond to your inquiry.
  • Purchase information: If you purchase Gilt, payment processing is handled by our payment provider. We receive confirmation of your purchase but do not store credit card or payment details.

Local Data Storage

All clipboard data is stored locally on your Mac in a SwiftData store at~/Library/Application Support/Gilt/. This data is only accessible to the Gilt application and is never synced to any cloud service.

Permissions

Gilt requests the following macOS permissions:

  • Accessibility: Required to paste clips into the active application when you double-click a card.
  • Clipboard access: Required to monitor and capture clipboard changes.

These permissions are managed entirely by macOS and can be revoked at any time in System Settings > Privacy & Security.

Third-Party Services

The Gilt desktop application does not communicate with any third-party services. Link metadata enrichment (fetching page titles and favicons for copied URLs) is performed directly between your Mac and the target website — no intermediary servers are involved.

Website

Our marketing website is hosted on Vercel. Vercel may collect standard web analytics (page views, country-level geography). No tracking cookies or third-party analytics scripts are used on our website.

Children's Privacy

Gilt is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date.
